Anthem and Indiana's Top Heart Facility Team Up to Provide Continued Access to Quality Cardiac Care

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana and The Heart Center of Indiana have reached a new multi-year contract, ensuring that Anthem members in Indiana will continue to be able to choose medical care from one of the top cardiac hospitals in the United States.
 
The Heart Center of Indiana, a 60-bed hospital located on the north side of Indianapolis, was the first free-standing heart hospital in the metro area when it opened three years ago. The Heart Center of Indiana is a joint venture between St.Vincent Health and the physicians and surgeons of The Care Group and CorVasc. The Center is dedicated entirely to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease, and more than 5,000 patients are admitted each year.

The 2006 Hospital Quality in America Study by HealthGrades ranked The Heart Center of Indiana as the number one cardiac hospital in the state and in the top five percent of all hospitals in the U.S. for overall cardiac services. The Heart Center of Indiana also received a five-star rating from HealthGrades for the treatment of heart attacks.
