We know how unsettling it can be to have a loved one in the hospital. That's why we strive to treat visitors with the same kind of care and attention to detail we afford our guests, helping them feel welcome and comfortable as they lend support to loved ones.
Spiritual care.
We believe that each person is a unique blend of body, mind and spirit. We believe each person to be worthy of respect and care. And in keeping with our core value of holistic caring, we place an emphasis on meeting the spiritual needs of our visitors.
Our chaplains are available:
- To listen and offer spiritual and emotional support;
- To accompany those in crisis or grief;
- To share prayer, lead worship or help create and lead other appropriate rituals;
- To contact and supplement the efforts of your own clergy; and
- To reflect and consult on questions of ethics.
St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana chaplains are available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. and during weekend hours; however, be assured that if you need to speak with one of our chaplains in an emergency situation, they will be available 24 hours a day. Because we place such great respect on the spiritual needs of our visitors and guests, we provide a chapel that is a place of quiet sanctuary where guests and visitors can nourish their spirits and nurture their relationships with the Divine.
At our 106th and North Meridian location, the chapel is located off the hospital lobby across from the café. At our 86th Street location, the chapel is located on the first floor near the stairs to the cafeteria. Chapels are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for prayer, worship, meditation, and reflection. Individuals of all faiths and traditions are invited to find peace, rest, and healing.
