St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana was the first hospital in the state to receive the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines—Coronary Artery Disease (GWTG-CAD) Gold Performance Achievement Award in December 2007. The award recognizes St.Vincent's commitment to and success in implementing a higher standard of cardiac care that improves treatment for patients with coronary artery disease, with 24 consecutive months of at least 85% of eligible coronary patients discharged following AHA treatment guidelines. Prior to winning the Gold Performance Achievement Award, St.Vincent received the Bronze Performance Achievement Award for compliance with guidelines over a 90-day period; and the Silver Performance Achievement award for meeting the same criteria for 12 consecutive months.
